Not for Attribution: Reply to Bonta

Addresses issues raised by J. Bonta (see record 1986-20536-001) in response to the discussion by the present authors (see record 1985-28931-001) of prison crowding research. Comments are offered in reply to Bonta's concern about coping strategies, variables other than density, misconduct and violence, individual differences and moderator variables, and conditions associated with density. It is suggested that a longitudinal study of inmates and moderator variables may be fruitful in answering the questions remaining in the area of prison crowding.
