Zusammenfassung:On the basis of the Detroit word recognition test, Detroit reading test and Haggerty reading examination the 5 best and 5 poorest children of 44 in a third grade were selected for this experiment. Reaction times to visual presentation of words and phrases were studied with the aid of the Marietta reaction-time set. Poor readers tend to read much more slowly and in smaller associative units than good readers.
