Zusammenfassung:It was desired to learn whether the rat will form a habit dependent only on proprioceptive cues, and if so, to what degree of discrimination. The animal was presented with a choice of two runways differing only in slope, one leading to food and the other to punishment; it was permitted to enter the wrong runway far enough to get the cue. All the rats formed the habit, and when normal their differential threshold was about 3°; when blinded a partial loss of the habit seemed to take place. 2 references.
