Reviews the book, Jewish Identity: A Social Psychological Perspective by Simon N. Herman (see record 1979-05796-000). The main purpose of the text is to bring the perspectives of social psychology to bear in the study of Jewish identity. Although social psychology is invoked as the theoretical base of the text, the author alludes only half-heartedly to a few theorists such as Lewin and then uses this as the base of the platform for Zionism.
