Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Alcohol Abuse Treatment by Ronald R. Watson (Ed.) (1992). The purpose of this third volume of is to review current theories and approaches to alcohol abuse treatment. The primary target audience for this book is alcohol abuse researchers, although it would appeal also to well-educated clinicians with backgrounds in research methodology. The book is composed of chapters covering a wide range of theoretical, methodological, clinical, and practical issues relevant to both research and treatment. Most of the chapters provide thorough and up-to-date reviews and pay more than the usual lip service to discussing treatment applications. Overall, Watson does an excellent job meeting his primary objective of reviewing current theories and approaches to alcohol abuse, and the title of this work appropriately reflects this focus.
