The stated goal of this book is the presentation of basic concepts and approaches of behavior modification within a context of social work values. The authors also attempt to recognize the special problems in applying this model in social work settings In addition to conceptual matters, the authors address assessment and intervention strategies This is accomplished in a four-parts: (1) Concepts and Principles; (2) Process and Practice; (3) Applications and Illustrations; and (4) Problems and Issues. The authors express the hope that the behavior modification techniques described will be tried in various social work settings and with diverse client problems.
