Zusammenfassung: | Reviews 57 studies on various mental processes like, memory, imagination, learning and the higher intellectual processes (1913-1915). Investigators of memory have almost always employed intellectual materials for memorizing; their findings do not take into consideration other factors which influence memory. It has been alleged that the imaginal content of day-dreams is dominantly auditory, while sleep-dreams usually have visual content. Other studies dealt with simultaneous and successive association, relation between articulation and association time, differences between recall and recognition and quantifying the degrees of similarity between certain stimuli. An attempt to investigate the independent functions of several factors which cooperated in the act of learning has been made. The studies on higher mental processes focused on consciousness of the universal, intercorrelation of preservations, and other similar topics. |
