Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Advances in Sport Psychology by Thelma S. Horn (Ed.) (see record 1993-98520-000). This book is a welcome addition to the burgeoning field of sport psychology. This theoretically based, edited text adds a new dimension to the collection of single-authored texts currently available. The authors contributing to this edition are truly the leaders in their respective areas of expertise. By design, an edited text can draw on the strengths of its contributors, painting a broader picture than can most single-authored texts. This strength can also become a weakness, however, in that differing styles and approaches of the authors can distract a reader from the quality of the content, a single-authored text can present a more cohesive coverage of disparate topics.
