Zusammenfassung: | I recommend this handbook (see record 1997-36614-000) as a good introduction to a number of current topics that are currently at the forefront of the testing movement focusing on cognitive intellectual abilities. The handbook editor has pulled together a number of current topics currently dispersed across a number of sources. This effort in itself deserves recognition as a contribution to the cognitive testing literature. Also, topic coverage does introduce the reader to a new area of testing within the domain of cognitive intellectual ability or abilities. On the other hand, the lack of an overarching organizational structure for the handbook makes the volume less than reader-friendly. This is not a reflection of the writing quality of individual chapter authors. Rather, the lack of an articulated overarching structure or rationale for current chapter arrangements is a distraction.
