Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Self-Related Cognitions in Anxiety and Motivation edited by Ralf Schwarzer (1986). Cognitive models of anxiety, self, and motivation currently appear in major journals in social, personality, clinical, developmental, and, to a lesser extent, cognitive psychology. The Schwarzer volume exemplifies both the considerable learning and social support occurs in the workplace. On the whole, this volume is long on conceptualization and short on specifics. The majority of the chapters are position statements of considerable abstractness or generality. The editors themselves anticipate this when they point out in their introduction that this is a book of questions, not answers. But even the questions are quite general.
