Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Communication Between Man and Dolphin: The Possibilities of Talking with Other Species by John C. Lilly (1978). The leitmotiv of this book centers on the large brains of Cetacea and the high level of functioning of dolphins because of their brain size. The style of writing is simple and easy, one better suited to the unsophisticated, nonspecialist reader than to the informed scientist, who is interested in intra and interspecies communication. Basically the book deals with the possibilities of communication by means of sound from one species to another, since this is not yet satisfactorily accomplished between dolphins and humans. More details about other scientists work with dolphins would have improved the content of this book. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved) |
