Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Social Psychology (2nd ed.) by Kenneth J. Gergen and Mary M. Gergen (1986). In this multiauthored volume, a group of primarily academic social workers explore the consequences of feminism for their profession. Five premises define the feminist vision presented here, including an emphasis on process as well as product, a concern with holistic and ecological interpretation, and a recognition that personal experience may be the basis of political statement. Some chapters focus on the meaning of feminism for various groups of people, including Blacks, men, lesbians and gays, and rural residents. Other chapters explore the implications of the delineated feminist vision for areas of policy and practice, including social policy, supervision and administrative style, classroom instruction, research strategies, and community organization.
