Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the books, Cognitive theories in social psychology: Papers from Advances in Experimental Social Psychology edited by Leonard Berkowitz (1978); and Group processes: Papers from Advances in Experimental Social Psychology edited by Leonard Berkowitz (1978). These two very welcome paperbound volumes bring together the "golden oldies" in group processes and cognitive theories that have appeared over the years in the Advances in Experimental Social Psychology series. The author's reminds us in the preface that social psychology-has a long past but a short history, and that we all too quickly forget the important ideas and studies of earlier years. Their collection here, along with the author's retrospectives, is a special boon to instructors of advanced undergraduates and to graduate students who can't yet afford to purchase the entire Advances series.
