Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Women and Aging by Ellen M. Gee and Meredith M. Kimball (see record 1987-98068-000). The monograph was designed for use in gerontology courses and as a reference for Canadian researchers, policymakers, and elder service providers. Chapters treat theoretical paradigms used in research on women and aging, Canadian age-sex structure and research on sex differences in mortality, sex differences in health and selected health concerns of older women, economic status of older women in Canada, Canadian occupational and family life-courses, research on sexuality and stereotypes, and suggestions for research. In general, the authors have realized their aims in writing this monograph. This monograph is a good choice for gerontology, women's studies, and social policy courses.
