Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Comparative Psychology in the Twentieth Century by Donald A. Dewsbury (1984). This book discusses the development of comparative psychology in the twentieth century. According to the author, forces external to the discipline certainly contributed to the face of comparative psychology, but they were of lesser significance overall than the staunch and persistent forces nurtured within psychology by psychologists. One can agree with Dewsbury that the thread of comparative psychology was kept intact by a few strong individuals with vision. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved) |
