Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, International Encyclopedia of Psychiatry, Psychology, Psychoanalysis and Neurology. First Progress Volume by Benjamin B. Wolman (Ed.) (1983). The encyclopedia was intended as a comprehensive reference work for scholars, scientists, and researchers concerned with problems of mental health and the human mind. The First Progress Volume is a five-year update of the "most significant developments" since the twelve volumes were published in 1977. A major strength of the work is the diversity of expert authors, providing a fresh range of views. Most of the articles are original and interesting. Overall, we can highly recommend the Progress Volume as a comprehensive reference work that facilitates continued dialogue among scholars of diverse fields. It is a very valuable tool for the busy scholar who wishes to become generally acquainted with different theories and methods. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved) |
