Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Treating Incest: A Multiple Systems Perspective edited by Terry S. Trepper and Mary Jo Barrett (1986). This book was previously published as the Journal of Psychotherapy and the Family, 2(2), Summer 1986. The editors have attempted to address both theoretical and clinical aspects of child sexual abuse, primarily for practitioners. The chapters provide a compendium of recent information about the nature of incest and how to handle the problem on a crisisreferral basis. Trepper and Barrett's chapter is noteworthy in providing useful organization and conceptualization of assessment issues, although their model of assessment fits most comfortably with those readers who are already intimately familiar with family assessment and treatment.
