Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Educational Computing: Issues, Trends, and a Practical Guide by Dennis M. Adams and Mary Fuchs (1986). In the authors' words, the book is intended as "a guide for both preservice and inservice teachers (that strikes) a balance between an educational computing reference manual and a discussion of the issues and trends in the field". Unfortunately, this book does not help fill the void. Although the book contains valuable information and a few useful references to resources, it suffers from several serious problems, including the lack of a coherent organizational framework and the absence of empirically based discussions. The book's organization prevents otherwise important information and insightful comments from having the impact on the reader it otherwise might. The book offers a little bit of a lot of things, but nothing that readers can really sink their teeth into and take a healthy byte. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
