Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, The Aptitude-Achievement Distinction: Proceedings of the Second CTB/McGraw-Hill Conference on Issues in Educational Measurement edited by Donald Ross Green (1974). The papers presented at the conference together with the prepared comments and open discussion are presented. The papers and discussion are wide ranging and relatively technical. All of the contributors believe that there is a valid and important distinction between aptitude and achievement. There was a wide variety of opinion, however, as to how successful present tests are in measuring the distinction. It was concluded that while the distinction between aptitude and achievement is clearly recognized intellectually, much work remains to be done in developing suitable tests to measure aptitude as distinguished from achievement.
