Zusammenfassung: | Reviews the book, Human Engineering Guide to Equipment Design. Revised Ed edited by Harold P. Van Cott and Robert G. Kinkade (see record 1974-02038-000). There are 15 chapters. The first two, which deal with system and human engineering analyses and with man as a system component, serve to introduce and summarize the logic of system analysis and fundamentals of human behavior; they resemble typical (but excellent) text materials. The next 10 chapters present handbook information-information directly relevant to human- factors engineering and equipment design problems. The final three chapters deal with the design of training systems and devices, and with human--factors engineering tests and evaluations; in general, they are more guide--or text-like than the handbook or data-based central chapters.
