Zusammenfassung:Reviews the book, Assessment for Decision edited by Donald R. Peterson and Daniel B. Fishman (1987). The editors have attempted to illuminate some of these issues by assembling works from an impressive array of authors, each of whom has had to face the difficulties of applying psychological knowledge in a particular setting. This book is not only interesting, it is also sobering. These collected works show that the bulk of the critical problems confronting the applied practitioner have little to do with assessment as it is currently taught. What Peterson and Fishman have created is more of an introduction than a definitive treatise. It is hoped that this beginning will ultimately lead to an in-depth handbook that can truly guide those of us on the front lines. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2016 APA, all rights reserved)
