Evolutionary psychology has emerged as a unifying theoretical perspective for the behavioral sciences. The evolutionary lens has been used to illuminate many and varied phenomena, including language, disease, psychopathology, sexual conflict, war, homicide, religion, morality, and altruism. Crawford and Salmon's ground breaking and important edited book, "Evolutionary Psychology, Public Policy and Personal Decisions" (see record 2004-12254-000), further extends evolutionary psychology's tentacles by applying its theories and findings to the realms of personal decisions and public policy.
