Valent and structural state of iron ions in basalt glasses of different crystallinity according to the data of Mössbauer spectroscopy

An investigation of oceanic basaltic glasses using the method of reconstruction of the distribution functions of the hyperne parameters of partial spectra was conducted. Among other things, the results showed that the shape of the distribution function of quadrupole splitting changes in response to the appearance of a crystal phase (clinopyroxene) in the glassy matrix.
