Zusammenfassung: | This study examines the influence of various pollarding heights on the growth, yield, and nutritional composition of Enterolobium cyclocarpum (elephant ear tree). Pollarding heights of 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 feet were assessed for their effects on sprout development, leaf biomass, and nutritional quality. The results show that pollarding at 4 feet optimizes sprout production, while 2 feet enhances leaf biomass and crude protein content. Proximate analysis indicated significant variations in both nutritional and anti-nutritional factors across pollarding heights. The findings suggest that tailored pollarding strategies can improve fodder quality and productivity, making E. cyclocarpum a valuable species for sustainable agroforestry, particularly in silvipastoral systems. These insights provide a foundation for optimizing tree management to boost livestock nutrition and enhance agroecosystem efficiency. |
