Zusammenfassung: | The paper shows the advantages of using remote satellite monitoring of the Earth in the educational process for the purposes of sustainable development. Using the example of the study of water vapor content in the atmosphere of Ukraine from 2001 to 2022, calculations of two approaches to obtaining, processing, and interpreting remote sensing data are given. The first approach – complicated – consisted of receiving satellite monitoring data and their further processing (transformation, cutting within the given area, interpretation, and conversion) in the Erdas Imagine program directly on a local computer. The second approach – simplified – consisted of the application of the Giovanni NASA online web application, which allows effective use of remote satellite monitoring data on a remote server based on specific requests and configured parameters, with results displayed on the screen in the form of thematic maps and graphs, that is, requiring their processing to a minimum. The discussion provides a comparison of the obtained results of these two proposed approaches (complicated and simplified) and describes their advantages and disadvantages for more efficiently obtaining the results of scientific research. |
