Zusammenfassung:The bug Macrolophus pygmaeus (Rambur) (Heteroptera: Miridae) is a generalist predator used to control a number of vegetable pests in greenhouses. In this study, we compared the attractiveness of two tobacco species, Nicotiana tabacum L. and Nicotiana alata L., for oviposition by M. pygmaeus . Both tobacco species were found to be equally attractive, but the mean number of nymphs per female depended on the plant surface area available for oviposition.
