Zusammenfassung: | Stresses have been analysed in rotating disks for different materials. The transition theory of B.R. Seth is used to evaluate the stresses. Calculations are performed to obtain the circumferential and radial stress in the transitional state. It is noted that value of circumferential stress is highest at the inner surface of the disk made up of compressible material as compared to disk made up of incompressible materials. It is also noted that for initial yielding more angular speed is required for disk made from incompressible materials as compared to disc made from compressible materials. |
