Zusammenfassung:In this study, we propose a performance evaluation method for exterior materials used in housing. The material performance was evaluated from an environmental perspective using a questionnaire survey and simulations based on the life cycle assessment (LCA) of buildings. Results showed that selecting appropriate exterior materials based on the LCA could reduce environmental burdens and ensure longevity of buildings because resource recycling of the roofing and exterior wall materials affects the protection target, i.e. human health, social capital, biodiversity and primary production along with the integration index of the protection target for both the materials.
