Zusammenfassung: | Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) persists as a dominant cause of global morbidity and mortality, frequently maintaining its silent course until reaching advanced stages. This pioneering study investigates the potential of Intravascular Optical Imaging (IOI) as an innovative tool for the early detection of CAD in asymptomatic patients. IOI leverages advanced optical technologies to visualize coronary artery plaques and assess their vulnerability, presenting a unique opportunity for timely intervention and prevention. The research demonstrates IOI’s capability to identify subclinical atherosclerotic lesions, characterize plaque composition, and quantify luminal stenosis. By integrating cutting-edge imaging modalities such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS), unmatched accuracy and sensitivity in detecting CAD-related changes are achieved. The results of this study underline the clinical significance of IOI in identifying high-risk patients who may benefit from early therapeutic interventions. Moreover, IOI facilitates risk stratification and personalized treatment strategies, thus minimizing the burden of CAD-related events and enhancing patient outcomes. |
