Zusammenfassung: | This research article presents wideband multiport (two, four, and six) high isolation multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antennas for 5G millimeter wave communication systems. The MIMO single unit uses a partially grounded slotted patch structure to achieve wideband response in a minimal footprint. The MIMO structure attains high port isolation through spatial and polarization diversity schemes. In addition, coupling the four-port MIMO antenna to an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) plane results in a large (threefold) improvement in gain. The proposed antenna prototypes are fabricated and tested. The prototype results are also compared with the reported state-of-the-art results. The AMC-coupled MIMO antenna offers large bandwidth (43%), high gain (8.54 dBi), high isolation (> 25 dB), and excellent diversity metrics (envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), diversity gain (DG), mean effective gain (MEG), and channel capacity loss (CCL)). The listed credentials are ideal for 5G communication networks and devices. |
