Signal timing design of signalized intersections using synchro 11 software
The research deals with the design of traffic signal timing to solve the problem of traffic congestion in four intersections at Palestine Street and three intersections at A lRubaii Street in Baghdad city. Times studied (07:30 –08:30 and 09:30–10:30) a.m., (01:30–02:30) pm and 05:00–06:00) p.m. Sync...

Zusammenfassung: | The research deals with the design of traffic signal timing to solve the problem of traffic congestion in four intersections at Palestine Street and three intersections at A lRubaii Street in Baghdad city. Times studied (07:30 –08:30 and 09:30–10:30) a.m., (01:30–02:30) pm and 05:00–06:00) p.m. Synchro (ver.11) used to examine and evaluate crowded seven signalized intersection. Their methods for increasing traffic performance and reducing delays were also offered. The level of service for current traffic conditions is (LOS F) at all seven selected intersections at peak times and (LOS E ) at off-peak times. The results after design signal timming were at peak time reducing control delay from (230 to 50), (190 to 60), (200 to 63), (127 to 46), (120 to 46), (180 to 40) and (187 to 43) sec per hour at peak times and from (90 to 30), (90 to 30), (95 to 28), (60 to 33), (65 to 35), (65 to 37), (90 to 34) sec per hour at off peak times for(Al Mawal, Al Nakhla, Al Sakhra, Beirut, Zayona, Al Rubaie, and Maysloon intersections. |
