Zusammenfassung: | Gamification is a modern technological trend in information systems that is applied in many fields. Gamification uses the logic of the game, its approaches, and its elements in a context that is different from that of games. Its purpose was to increase user engagement and commitment. International studies have associated gamification in education with increased motivation and active student engagement. Some studies have examined the attitude and use of gamification in the educational context due to positive findings in learning effectiveness. However, relevant research in Greece is incomplete. At the same time, no study has investigated the use of gamification in secondary education or the corresponding attitudes of teachers. The purpose of this research is to study the attitudes of secondary school teachers towards gamification and its actual use in the educational context. This research was quantitative. The attitude of 71 secondary teachers was found to be positive, and the demographic data did not affect their attitude. In addition, it was demonstrated that its use is limited in the school context and is in contrast with positive attitudes. Teachers’ discipline emerged as a factor influencing their use and willingness to implement. |
