Zusammenfassung:Dislance education is very effective, accessible, low cost educational opportunity for those out of conventional educational system. However, to be effective in agricultural distance education, there is a need for more practical, field based approach. There are several micro and macro issues before distance education system in general and agricultural distance education system in particular in India. Dependence on conventional system of education, lack of need based trainings, doubts about the quality of the instructional programmes, poor interaction with students and quality of guidance and the high dropout rate. This study examines the impact of the B.F. Tech degree program on the techno socio-economic status of its graduates. The study involved 350 B.F. Tech graduates from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, who studied between the years 2010 and 2018. A total sample size of 350 was selected from 3 centers such as DODL Coimbatore, KVK. Tindi-vanam, AC&RI Madurai based on Proportionate random sampling technique. The data reveals mixed responses: while many graduates appreciate the theoretical exposure (44.57%) and course content (40.29%), a significant number report dissatisfaction with practical exposure (64.86%) and the quality of study materials (35.14%). Outcomes show enhanced knowledge and skills for 40.2% of respondents, but income increases were less frequently reported (45.14% disagreed). Personal impacts such as improved confidence and decision-making received varied responses. Social and economic impacts indicate moderate awareness of socio-economic development but limited improvements in media participation and entrepreneurial qualities. Overall, the program shows strengths in theoretical learning but requires enhancements in practical training and economic outcomes for graduates. The results indicate a varied response: while a significant portion of respondents found the theoretical exposure beneficial (44.57%), there was notable dissatisfaction with practical exposure (64.86% disagreed). Mixed responses were observed regarding the improvement of communication skills, confidence levels, and self-empowerment. +The findings of the study revealed that suggestion to improve attending class is the first and foremost strategy (0.30) which needs to be concentrated while formulating policies to improve precision farming. Hence, to overcome these disabilities and to strengthen distance education system
