Zusammenfassung: | Soil organic carbon (SOC) standardize the terrestrial ecosystem performance, supply various power sources for soil microorganisms, direct result to soil structure, and control the availability of biological nutrients. Organic matter is frequently used to explain the same soil fraction as total organic carbon. Organic matter is different to total organic carbon in that it contains all the essential elements like oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen etc, that are elements of organic complex, not just carbon alone. Monocropping did not play any role in the soil carbon pools. The cover crops has the possibility to increase the soil carbon build up in related subtropical system. Conservation Tillage is mainly connected with minimum soil disturbance due to mechanical tillage and specific concern with Zero tillage or minimum tillage. There are many farming systems, but the agroforestry systems improve the organic carbon content and paves the way for the nutrient cycling due to symbiotic relationship between crop and trees. Intercropping and crop rotations systems are important components in the farming system which changes the quantity of plant residues for the built-up of soil carbon content The interactions between soil organic carbon with different organic matters in the soil ecosystem is essential for soil fertility. There are many methods to enhances the soil carbon content, the practices like zero tillage, crop rotation, mulching, conservation tillage, zero tillage and incorporation of different organic inputs are crucial for organic carbon buildup in the soil ecosystem. Based on the above advantages, ecofriendly farming techniques are very important to enrich the crop growth without any loss due to nutrient deficiencies, pest and diseases invasion and also to mitigate the climatic change for the sustainable crop yield to farming community. |
