Zusammenfassung:This qualitative study sought to understand the motives of mothers adopting children of the Mygoma Orphanage House in Jabal Awliya locality. Reports proved that recently, there was increasing number of adopting families yet, no data is available on the families perspectives on motives that pushed them to sponsor orphan children, or how they carry that out. The study targets adopting mothers; that they would be updated with new education styles and be qualified to carry out such responsibility in the best possible way. Eleven adopting mothers were chosen conveniently. Interview questions were utilized to investigate the responses of the sample during field work. To analyze the interview questions; thematic analysis including codes and patterns was used. The researcher concluded number of findings: Motives of adopting an abandoned child are related to the mothers loneliness feelings as well, mothers thought that adopting a child is a triggers reward from Allah. All mothers defined adopting as giving care and love to the orphan child. They generally consider adopting a charity and expressed feeling of satisfaction with their lives because of it. Findings also pointed out that there is no specific tendency towards the gender of the chosen child, yet, the adopted child is preferred to be at its early childhood (l-3years). The researcher recommended conducting educative workshops for the women who desire to sponsor children from any orphanage house about the best way to raise children without parental care as well, to execute standard plans of follow up and evaluation of the adopting mothers performance to make sure that children get proper treatments, to include the efforts of the adopting process in the media to encourage the community to support it, and remove the stigma from these innocent adopted children. Finally, the researcher recommends further studies in this field to enrich the scientific content.
