Zusammenfassung: | Solid waste has always been an undesirable by product of industrialized societies’ operations. The global re- evaluation of the methods used to recycle and use construction and demolition (C&D) debris as recycled aggregate for engineering projects has been prompted by industrial growth and severe environmental legislation in established and developing nations. The main aim of this paper gives an overview of mechanical and chemical technologies carried out on to modify the adhered mortar of recycled aggregate, where the weak old adhered mortar over the surface of aggregate makes the recycled aggregate quality lower than natural aggregate. The improve of the recycled aggregate characteristics by removing the old mortar or strengthening the surface of aggregate to become accepted by the construction industry. With enhancement methods, the physical and mechanical properties of RA were significantly increased such as water absorption, density, crashing value and abrasion value, which is influence on the strength and durability of RA concrete for both structural and non-structural application. |
