Today, as measured by streaming, concert attendance and CD sales, classical music is number four in music consumption, well behind rap, rock and country. Here, Kelleher et al explores the means by which a community-of-practice literature with an exclusionary high level of competence enables inclusivity, the exclusions such inclusionary efforts overcome, and the attempts to balance the tensions between such exclusions and inclusions.
