Zusammenfassung:The relation of nutrition, omics sciences and ocular health has become increasingly prominent. The advent of genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics offers profound insights into how individual dietary components impact our genetic expression and overall health. Personalized nutrition, informed by omics data, enables dietary recommendations to optimize vision and prevent ocular diseases. Modern diets, often rich in processed foods, have shown correlations with increasing incidences of vision problems. In contrast, diets emphasizing antioxidants and specific micronutrients have demonstrated potential protective effects on the eyes. By understanding individual genetic predispositions, omics sciences pave the way for preventive measures, ensuring better ocular health and reducing the prevalence of conditions like macular degeneration. The future promises even more precise dietary interventions to improve eye health based on individual genetic profiles.
