Zusammenfassung: | This study evaluates the effectiveness of two retrofitting techniques, X-type steel braces, and shear walls, in enhancing the resilience of existing structures using the computer-based software ETABS. Through computational modeling and analysis, the structural behavior of retrofitted buildings under seismic forces is assessed. The comparative analysis includes a simple building without retrofitting measures, a building retrofitted with shear walls, and a building retrofitted with X-type steel braces. Key parameters such as inter-story drift, stress distribution, and displacement are analyzed within ETABS to determine the superior retrofitting approach. The findings provide valuable insights for engineers and architects, aiding in the development of robust retrofitting strategies using ETABS that improve structural integrity and resilience. This research contributes to creating a safer and more resilient built environment, mitigating the risks posed by seismic hazards. |
