Zusammenfassung: | Software defined networks are an emerging technology of the future Internet where the control plane and data plane are separated unlike IP networks. The creation of complex network functions like load balancing is made easier by the consolidation of the control logic in a controller with comprehensive network knowledge which shows the centralization of control logic. Traditional networks have dedicated load balancers, which become a single point of failureleading to decrease in network performance. To address this problem, we propose a load balancing application that controls the data plane and ensures that the network is not overloaded with the incoming data packets. The SDN controller used is Open Network Operating System (ONOS), and Mininet emulator for creating a virtual network for demonstration purposes. The load balancing algorithm is implemented on the given topology. Experimental results prove that the proposed algorithm selects the best path from source to destination and balances traffic. |
