Zusammenfassung: | Concrete is a manmade material consists of different constituents like cement, aggregates and water. In this experimental investigation, cement is partially replaced with metakaolin and quarry dust is partially replaced to fine aggregate. Metakaolin is partially replaced to cement in the percentage of 0 to 20% with 5 % increments. Fine aggregate is partially replaced with quarry dust by 0 to 40% with 10 % increments. From this study best combination is found with metakaolin and quarry dust for getting better compressive, split tensile and flexural strengths than normal concrete. Totally 13 sets of concrete specimens like cubes, cylinders and prisms are cast with these replacements for finding compressive, split tensile and flexural strengths at the age of 28 days of curing. Concrete with metakaolin as partial replacement to cement given better results in compression at 10 %, split tension at 20 % and flexure at 15 % replacements. Concrete with 20 % replacement quarry dust given better results under all aspects. Concrete with 10 % M + 20 % Q combination given better results under compression. Concrete with 20 % M + 40 % Q combination given better results under split tension and flexure. |
