Zusammenfassung: | Strangely, the palimpsest of human occupation is often far less visible in the city than it is in wilder spaces. Artist, architect, researcher and educator Kirsty Badenoch describes an exploratory expedition to draw out these ghosts within the rugged landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, and a subsequent exhibition of the work through diary entries and photographic forms. The work itself is made through transcriptive collaborations with the volatile climate and flora and fauna of the site, creating a tale of palimpsestuous relationships that dislocate the artistic self as nature leads the dance, or at the very least calls the tune. |
