Zusammenfassung: | Electric Propulsion is prominently used in several kinds of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), in which propeller based propulsion system is usually used to propel the drone. This paper presents a study on role of electrostatic forces due to ionization for application in unmanned aerial vehicles. The different geometries of electrodes in ion thrusters and contribution of electrostatic forces to the ion thrust of the drone are studied in this article. The study shows that the electrode geometry optimization could be influential for thrust augmentation in ion propelled UAVs. |
