Zusammenfassung:The Human Development Index (HDI) is an important indicator used to measure the level of human welfare in a region or country based on three dimensions: health, education, and economy. The HDI in South Sulawesi Province is not evenly distributed in each district/city, indicating a dependency between data measurements and locations. Spatial regression models can map the distribution of HDI in South Sulawesi Province and identify spatial patterns in the data. There are two main models of spatial regression: Spatial Autoregressive Model (SAR) and Spatial Error Model (SEM). This study used public data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, that is HDI data in South Sulawesi Province in 2021 and aimed to model the HDI and determine the factors influence the HDI in South Sulawesi Province. The result of the study using the best HDI model was SEM with K-Nearest Neighboor (K-NN) distance spatial weighting matrix. The factors that influence HDI are per capita expenditure, gross regional domestic product, and population density.
