Zusammenfassung:Seram Sea waters and Buru Island are relatively rich, however, the determination of fish catchment areas for some fishermen still uses natural intuition or instinct. So that is necessary to have knowledge about the importance of oceanographic parameters as an indicator of the level of primary productivity of water. Based on the average monthly data for a period of 10 years, the results of a compilation of data on sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration are grouped by season. The data shows a significant decrease in temperature and an increase in chlorophyll-a concentration from all points in the sample area during the west season to the transitional season I. This condition indicates the potential occurrence of upwelling in that area, while the upwelling criteria that occurred are categorized as weak according to the interpretation in the analysis. A fluctuation in temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration throughout the seasonal period. This condition indicates the presence of upwelling potential in that area, with the upwelling criteria categorized as weak according to the interpretation in data analysis. Based on data analysis, the potential occurrence of upwelling tends to be more dominant during the western season in the sample. The area waters and Buru Island are relatively rich, however, the determination of fish catchment areas for some fishermen still uses natural intuition or instinct. So that is necessary to have knowledge about the importance of oceanographic parameters as an indicator of the level of primary productivity of water. This study aims to cluster analyze the variability of oceanographic parameters for detecting upwelling area. This study uses data from December 2010-November 2019, including sea surface temperature and chlorophyll-a concentration from AQUA-MODIS imaging results.
