The Relevance of the Engineering and Technical Solutions Implemented at the Branch of Shemyakin–Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences, and Current Problems of Vivariums and Laboratory Animal Breeding Facilities

The relevance of the engineering and technical solutions implemented at the Branch of Shemyakin–Ovchinnikov Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences (IBCh RAS), in the 1980s when designing a laboratory building with a vivarium and a nursery of specific pathogen-free (SPF) laboratory animals was discussed. SPF-status laboratory animals are used when performing non-clinical studies according to the OECD principles of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
