Zusammenfassung: | In high-intensity accelerators, minimizing beam loss isparamount to avoid damages and activation of acceleratorcomponents. To achieve this, a reliable beam profile monitor isessential for assessing the beam center and spread. Additionally, the beam profile can be used to steer the beam during regularoperation, thus reducing beam loss. In cases of irregular events, the monitor can initiate beam profile recording to identify andaddress any issues promptly. In this manuscript, we present adetailed description of a non-invasive 2D beam profile monitor, focusing on its components, operation, and most importantly, itsreliability and failure modes. From operation experience, failuremodes of the system and its effects were identified. Fault treeanalysis was carried out. Failure rate of sheet generator wasestimated using response surface method. Failure rates of componentswere used to estimate the failure rate of the system. From thetarget reliability, the required maximum repair time of the systemwas calculated. |
