Zusammenfassung:In most of the engineering applications, the weight of the structure must be minimum for better performance of the system. The reduction of weight always presents a challenge. Honeycomb structures are the structures that have the geometry of a honeycomb to allow the minimization of the amount of used material to get the minimal weight and minimal material cost. The honeycomb structures are used to reduce the weight of structure with high strength. This paper is focusing to design a honeycomb structure for making dumper of a heavy vehicle and comparing the honeycomb sandwich panel with regular material by numerical and analytical method. Basically, honeycomb sandwich structure panel consists of three layers that are face sheets, adhesive bonds and one core. The main objective is to produce a honeycomb sandwich panel at same thickness as regular material and to analyse its high stiffness to the weight ratio. Also to check whether the structure has low deflection for the same weight as regular material.
