Zusammenfassung:The results of the research of the microplastic accumulation in the floodplain alluvium of the river Volga in the area of Tver are presented Soil samples were taken within the city, upstream and downstream of the river. Samples were processed using a modified method of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Microplastic particles were detected in all samples, the largest amount was found in the area where plastic production and processing enterprises are located. It has been established that films, granules and fragments of plastic particles predominate in all selected samples ranging in size from 1 to 2.5 mm along the largest axis.
