Zusammenfassung:The history of occurrence and technological features of obtaining transparent aluminum oxynitride ceramics are examined in detail. It is concluded that high-purity single-fraction powders should be used to obtain optically homogeneous aluminum oxynitride ceramics. The introduction of additives regulating the microstructure and properties of transparent ceramics is recommended. The application area of such ceramics is given.
